Aim: The aim of this interactive workshop is to show how leadership and learning across a whole school can help develop and sustain a Professional Learning Community (PLC). Principals attending the workshop will need to bring their School Plan and an area of challenge facing their school. Participants will be sitting in groups of 8-10.
The four sessions are a framework for developing and sustaining PLCs. Values are the foundation because they inform and shape the culture of a developing PLC. In turn, what is valued and evident in a school culture shapes the direction and purpose of a PLC. This is a key leadership role. With harmony between the values, the culture, and direction, a PLC develops and becomes sustainable. A focus on learning for all strengthens this necessary harmony.
